Summer Storm

Last night the weather radio went off. "Warning! Severe thunderstorms with high winds!"
I had to drive across the river to check on my daughter's cats at her house, and thought I could make it there and back before the storms arrived, based on the radar images on TV.
As I got in the car, however, I realized that the storm line was approaching faster than I anticipated, and ran back in for my camera. Those dramatic clouds would make great photos. The best shots came as I drove down the Interstate and could not stop to take a picture, of course. I wisely spent some extra time at my daughter's house waiting for the worst of it to pass by.
Today, the sun shone brightly, but not as hot and humid as yesterday. Mama Cooper's Hawk and her white fuzzy chick surveyed the neighborhood from their pine tree. The two babies are starting to stand on the edge of the nest to flap their wings. Pretty soon they will be ready to fledge.

My goodness, those are really scary looking clouds that could suddenly do great damage. Glad you are safe and sound.

Love your Cooper's Hawk images, they are awesome looking. Have a great weekend, ready for some dryer weather, but also wish it would cool down a bit~
